Our Classes today had an Irish flavour and were inspired by the sea.
Warm Up We warned up with a nonsense song Lickety Split (6/8 rhythm) varying volume and tempo.
Singing We worked on a traditional Irish song , Ta na baid
(lyrics below)
Adding dancing feet
We saw some great Irish dancing to the jig tempo of the song
Adding Percssion and Bass
We used a set of bongo drums to add a rhythmic ostinato ( short repeated thythm)
Adding a pizz note on cello to emphasize first beat in bar.
Ten Pieces senior classes had a closer look and listen to a popular piece by Irish composer Shaun Davey
